		<description>That we have codified bias against a whole group of people in our State Constitution astounds me.  That such bias is seen as legal and ethical in a Democratic society is even more astounding.   Substitute &quot;gay&quot; for &quot;black,&quot; and see what I mean.

As a married straight woman I was not fearful that gay marriage would harm my family.  But as an American citizen who believes in Democracy and the freedoms it ensures its people, I did feel that Prop 2 would harm my country.
