Dean
Terry is an experimental cross media artist, utilizing
digital video, audio, photography, and writing in networked environments.
His work has been seen at film and video festivals and new media
events nationally. He is currently developing 'Voluntary Isolation',
a
documentary/hybrid
film that investigates the nature
of community in our virtually connected, media saturated world.
Mr.
Terry is also a noted entrepreneur and was co-founder and
Principal of PixelWave, a leading interactive media firm in Los
Angeles.
The firm's client list included Warner Brothers, Sprint, Intel,
Cisco Systems, Sony, and others. In 1999 he sold
PixelWave
to AtomFilms (AtomShockwave).
There he served as Senior Vice President of Creative Development
and directed, wrote, and produced numerous award winning online
projects.
Mr.
Terry also produced some of the earliest interactive mobile media
projects with Microsoft and Nokia. He is currently
involved in research with mobile ad hoc networks and their applications
in mobile interactive video art.
Dean Terry is currently a professor of Aesthetic Studies in
the School of Arts & Humanities at the University
of Texas at Dallas.
